Is this going to be the year of another Invasion of the Elegant Terns?There
are three different location in Oregon sighted.It been exact 19 years July
1997 where this occurred here in Ocean Shores and in Tokeland Grave Yard
Spit.How can I forget ,the day we taken two birders (from Arizona)out to
Ocean Shores for Shorebirds to find.Seeing in the thousands of this birds
on the 13th of July.I remember this occasion vividly,we been there before
but taken birders out,it is a different Story.We all standing on the Oyehut
Game Range,all what was out there Caspian terns,but what was the smaller
birds standing beside them?Drawing closer,we discover that this seven Terns
where Elegant Terns,there all had the black tuff on there heads.As we
watching this terns we saw more coming flying even closer where we all
standing.This Terns where first for both birders,and all was happy.This
Elegant Terns increased from 97 the day we was there, to 157 Birds on the
19th
Stefan Schlick mention that this Terns in Waldport going North,there is a
chance that this birds coming in to Washington.
