Dear Tweeters,



Apparently Tweeters or Tweets is an acceptable term of address, at least
based on the many responses I received to my inquiry yesterday about good
places to bird in Washington during early August. Thanks to everyone. To
those who responded I will try to reply to each of you.



Several peoples asked about my target birds and suggested that I post them
to the list to help people respond. I am not coming only for the lifers
but, yes, I am a birder and a lister so I would like to see some lifers. I
have visited a few places in the western US, including Arizona, New Mexico,
California (although not extensively) and Alaska so I have some western
birds on my list.



I will not list the pelagic birds as I will be taking a trip out of Westport
and hope to see some of them. The land birds are listed below. I realize
that some of them may not be there at this time or in the areas that I can
expect to visit. I don't think I can make the eastern slope. It does not
include every bird that would be a lifer. For example I did not list
Spotted Owl or Northern Saw-Whet. I feel that owls are too difficult to
focus on during an initial, short trip. Northern Saw-Whets breed within an
hour of my house but I've never seen one. I did list Northern Pygmy-Owl as
it is apparently active during the day.
