Subject: [Tweeters] Snoqualmie Pass Hummingbirds

Hummingbird Activity at Snoqualmie Pass is back up! While unlikely to get
up to the 265ounces of nectar usage per day pack in the early part of May,
it is still pretty busy. Current usage is about 45 ounces of nectar a day
and should probably increase over the next few weeks as the fledgings come
out.

Feel free to stop by and check out the activity at my feeders. Take Exit 54
and go towards Hwy 906 (south). Continue straight through three-way stop.
Stay on road as it curves to the left and down a hill. As the road flattens
out it will curve back to the right. You will see a light blue house with a
"fire hydrant teepee" in front. Most activity is on the left side of the
house. The address is 69 E Hyak Drive, Snoqualmie Pass.

Most notably will be rufous fledgings, with females also about and an
occasional mature male.

A Male Anna's was banded last year at a nearby location and I believe but I
am not sure that a female Anna's has been around, possibly on a nest? If
you see an Anna's, please let me know.

If you see a calliope, that would be a notable sighting and I would
appreciate knowing that as well.

Wild Pistils Garden Club Tour is during the day on August 9th. Although the
web page has not yet been updated for this year, more information can be
found at http://www.wildpistilgardenclub.com/index.html Also, there is a
hummingbird viewing in the evening at my house starting at 7:00 p.m. Please
RSVP to bird-guy at wildlifeonly.com and bring a lawn chair!
