Greetings All

Today Brad Waggoner and I (joined in pm by Mike Willison) had 23 Pectoral
Sandpipers, all adults, in the Stanwood area. We also had 3 Redhead, 2 females
and a male. This is the largest number of Pectorals I've ever seen in July by a
long-shot, and w. Washington July Redheads are not annual in occurrence. One
wonders what else might have gotten pushed to the Wetside today. Additionally,
there was a brood of Blue-winged Teal at the Stanwood Sewage Ponds (which is
where 2 of the Redhead were).

There was a Eastern Kingbird on Spencer Island not feeding on snags not far
from the bridge that one takes to the island. They bred on the island this
summer. We also had two Semipalmated Sandpipers (juvs) on the mudflats at Spencer.

Best Wishes
Steven Mlodinow
