Friday and Saturday did some birding in Yakima County chasing some of Andy Stepniewski's good finds. At mile post 41 north of Satus Pass the Red-eyed Vireo was singing away in the heat around noon on Friday. Then running around town looking for rare plants to buy we had a Peregrine Falcon on Washington west of the airport in Yakima.

On Saturday my wife, Laurie and I tried for the Black-backed Woodpecker up the Little Naches River. We found the small burn, but very quiet. A family with 2 juv. Gray Jays passed through, but no woodpeckers. They could still be in the area, but we didn't see them.
