Hi Tweeters & Inland-NW-Birders -

An updated version of the 2008 county year list project is up at
Washington Birder.
The list is available at:
http://www.wabirder.com/bartel.html

While individual county listing is fun, the idea behind this project
was to try to keep track of the 'community' list: all the birds seen
by anyone, rather than just those seen by one person. We've got
compilers keeping track of the cumulative year list for each county
in Washington and they'd be grateful for any help you might have in
filling in some of the gaps on the lists.

The latest available file has updates for almost every county through
the end of the first half of the year. I just took a look at 2007's
totals at the same stage for some comparison: Total numbers look
pretty similar from one year to the next. We are a bit lower on the
total state-wide species count, but in general right at about the
same place as we were last year, with 367 species reported this year
vs. 370 by this point last year.

Info on who to contact for each county, along with more detail about
the project can be found at the link above.

Good birding,
