Tweeters,

Here are some final numbers for the first ever Washington State
roosting Vaux's Swift census.

1. Of the 33 Washington State historic Vaux's Swift Roost sites, 28
were observed at least once. 15 of those were positive.

2. Of 11 identified "big Stacks" that were not known to have hosted
swifts in the past, 10 were observed at least once. None of those were
positive.

3. We added two new sites. One of them turned out to be the second
most productive site in the state.

4. 70 different observers made 211 observations.

5. From April 16 to June 13 we observed 183,000 swift-chimney
interactions.

6. There are still 100 birds being seen at two sites.

7. The highest one day total was 21,000 by Judy Alles at Monroe Wagner
on May 7.

8. The unofficial state record one day high count of 4000 swifts was
broken 14 times at 3 different sites.

We had a lot of folks that took this very serious and had a good time
doing so. Proud of you!

There is now a web site that may have your name in it. Google Vaux's
