Hi All,

A boat-check of Blakely Rock off of the southeast side of Bainbridge
Island revealed a few goodies. Amongst the 150+ Black Turnstones, 20
Surfbirds, and 25 Sanderlings were two WANDERING TATTLERS, one alternate
plumaged RED KNOT, and one juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER. Blakely Rock
is a pretty special place in central Puget Sound.

Calm seas allowed the other four Island bird fanatics, Jamie Acker,
George Gerdts, Ian Paulson, and Doug Watkins to climb on-board to
witness the shorebird spectacle. I am not sure I am Coast Guard approved
for such a group.

There are only 3 records for Red Knot in Kitsap County and only a
handful of Wandering Tattler records.

Cheers and good birding,

Brad Waggoner
