i'm continually amazed by what i find in my "backyard". this morning, a
first for the yard (that i've noticed, anyway): a swainson's thrush,
mottled breast and all, was pecking at the leavings on the porch railing.
the second i moved to get the camera, he took umbrage (and with it,
flight)...

what next? a great egret? :)
