Hi Tweets: Two things.

I can't rave enough about the trail at Umtanum Creek in Yakima Canyon. Although the trail is open only 3 miles in, a recent stop there by me and my husband held an incredible sight: In the same tree, at the same time, one BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, three LAZULI BUNTINGS, two BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, one WESTERN TANAGER and a couple of GOLDFINCHES. Plenty of other birds there as well. If you go to Canyon Road in Ellensburg and turn right, the creek parking area will be one of the first recreation areas you reach. A great day trip for those wanting a look at colorful species and some dry-side weather.
