Tweets,
I had two new yard birds in 60 hours (after 19 years). Sunday evening over
the TV I could hear (barely) a Great Horned Owl--must have been right
outside the window. This morning coming out of the house I was greeted by a
pewee singing from atop an ornamental cedar tree across the main drag that
runs in front of my place. It was singing non-stop as adamantly as I've ever
heard, during a brief lull in the cold rainfall. I've been gone for a month
but this sighting reinforces my impression that spring migration has
unfolded at a slow pace this season. True? During the month of May we
married off our son, visited 8 countries in Europe (30th anniversary), plus
I took part in a Big Day in SE Connecticut. I birded some extraordinary
spots in Europe (200+ spp) if anyone's interested.
Good birding!
