Hello all from MerryLynn,
Just returned from talking with the folks at the Walla Walla Ranger District
about Forest Service roads since the WOS Conference is here in Walla Walla
this weekend. Tiger Canyon is open only up to the saddle - can't get to 64
or 65. The road towards Jubilee Lake is still closed at Tollgate, Woodwoard
campground is closed and you can't get up past Bluewood at all out of
Dayton. I did not call the Pomeroy district but imagine that road is closed
shortly after the forest boundary. It did not snow as much south of
Tollgate - you can get up into the Blue Mountains from Elgin, OR.
At least we have plenty of snowpak to keep the creeks and rivers running!
And it has rained all day here today which we needed.
Migration seems to be heating up just in time for the weekend - have Western
Tanagers and Wilson's Warblers in our yard and our neighborhood Rough-winged
Swallows just arrived today.
Later, MerryLynn
