Hi Folks,

Just wanted to report the violent t-storm I experienced on Virginia
Lilly Rd. next to Bonaparte Lake the evening of Sunday, 6/1. After a
rainy day that was supposed to be clear, I went up during a clearing
hoping to hear some Flams or Poorwills in the area around Beaver Lake.
I got chased out by pouring rain and lightening as close as one mile
away. Further down the road, by Hwy. 20, I encountered hail coating the
ground as big as 1/2". Leaves had been shredded from deciduous trees
and covered the whole road. Then, on the highway, I drove gingerly
through 1-2" of snow/slush that had not been there an hour before on my
way up. Early in the morning, I could see snow still up there from
Aeneas Valley as I birded my way out. The snow was gone before noon.
Strange spring.
