Hi All,

I'd hope to write up something about the fun I had birding Aeneas Valley
5/31, and 6/2 Lyman Lake/Moses Meadow Road (between bouts of pouring
rain). It looks like I don't have time, so let me mention NOWA at
N48.57311, W 118.89584, 2,317? elev.

I also want to report a Least Flycatcher seen in the alder lining Lyman
Creek very close to the west side of Lyman Lake Road where I stopped to
see the Yellow Warbler I was hearing. I also observed Red-naped
Sapsucker and a female Rufous Hummer zipping away at this birdy spot
near the north end of the road. Because Wayne Weber once did not take
what appeared to be a Least FL in Idaho because the bird could not be
heard, I took the added precaution of playing a recording for this bird.
It came back, agitated, and sang the same song right back.

If you haven't seen Moses Meadows yet, it is worth the drive, especially
on a leisurely trip back to your home. I had a Northern Goshawk there,
along with lots of nice warblers, Cassin's Vireo with nest material, and
lots of other delights even between rain squalls.
