Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 5. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 1 a male EASTERN TOWHEE was photographed at Malheur NWR
Headquarters. On June 2 a NORTHERN PARULA was on the North Spit of Coos Bay.
An OVENBIRD was at Malheur Headquarters June 2 and another was in Bend June
3. On May 31 an INDIGO BUNTING was at Headquarters and a WHIMBREL was near
Burns. On June 4 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was on Yaquina Bay.

A breeding plumaged EARED GREBE was at Ridgefield NWR May 31. On May 30 a
CHAT was on Oak Island on Sauvie Island. A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and a
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was on the east side of Sauvie Island May 31. There
are now four pairs of REDHEADS at the Vanport Wetlands in North Portland.

On May 31 a CASSIN?S FINCH was at a northwest Portland feeder. A female
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at a Portland feeder June 3. A pair were at a
Hillsboro feeder June 4. On May 29 a STILT SANDPIPER and two AVOCETS were
at a wetland near Turner. On June 1 a BLACK TERN was there. On June 1 a
BREWER?S SPARROW and an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER were SW of Brownsville. An
ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was in Eugene June 4. A FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL was
at Fern Ridge Reservoir May 30.
