Hello All,

I arrived at Point No Point at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, June 4th and
heard from other birders that the bunting had not been seen. I searched off
and on for a few hours along the wetland trail immediately south of the
lighthouse. I was ready to pack it at 6:40 in when I saw the INDIGO BUNTING
flying by very quickly heading south to north towards the lighthouse. I
made my way back to the lighthouse area figuring I would find it there
easily
but there was no sign of the bird. Finally, about 7:00 pm, I re-found the
bunting
towards the south end of the trail where it ascends from the open wetland
area
into the forest. It perched for a relatively brief but clear and satisfying
view.
I stayed until dusk but had no further sightings. The bunting was elusive
and rather flighty but it is quite possible the bird will remain. There is
a great deal of good bunting habitat in the area.

Other sightings of note included a male BLUE-WINGED TEAL in the small slough
along the wetland trail about halfway between the lighthouse and the forest
and 3 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS as dusk fell.
