Subject: [Tweeters] Juanita Bay Park Barn Owl, Nighthawk

This evening after the weather cleared up I walked down to Juanita Bay
Park around dusk to see if I might be lucky enough to find a
nighthawk. Several Black Swifts and Purple Martins were silhouetted
against the reflecting sunset over the lake. At least five beavers
were out in the bay eating their lily pad burritos. As it was getting
dark a Barn Owl appeared out of the misty fog, flying by several times
before perching in a willow. After stretching its wings it took off
out over the bay, gaining altitude and heading up over Finn Hill. As
I got back to my house a Common Nighthawk was calling repeatedly
overhead.

Good birding,
