Subject: [Tweeters] ID help: Thrush? Pipit?

In the arboretum near the UW campus yesterday, we came upon a smallish brown bird (7" or thereabouts) with a very thrush-like beak, plain brown head, back, and tail, a thin eye ring, and a pale, nearly clear breast. It was on the ground in a brushy area near trees, and it stayed put while we observed it from about 10 feet away. The breast seemed to have a very light pattern on it (not spots, more like streaks) but it was hard to tell because it was fluffed out. The beak was dark gray, with yellowish mouth lining--the bird yawned and tucked in for a nap while we watched. Hermit thrush? Pipit? Help?

Thanks!
