Your bird sounds like a Hutton's Vireo, which has two basic songs:

1) A very repetitious, rising "zuweet, zuweet, zuweet," over and
over, repeating about every second or two.

2) A repetitious, descending "seyou, seyou, seyou," over and over,
repeating about the same

Typical vireo, they ask questions and give answers, but Hutton's give
all the questions at one time, then give all the answers sometime later.

How fast do the notes repeat?

Who says this?

"Suweet? Suweet? Suweet?...."

It's a clear whistled phrase, repeated, without other ornamentation.

Whoever it is, they hide well. I heard this today at Pritchard Beach
in a willow thicket, at Martha Washington from a oak thicket and from
the neighbor's oak tree just now at dusk. I have yet to see who it is.

Ideas?
