Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 7 a CARDINAL visited a feeder in the Johns Landing section of
Southwest Portland. A bright male SUMMER TANAGER is being seen at Camp
Sherman. It has been around since Memorial Day. On June 4 and June 7 a BROWN
THRASHER was at the Brothers Rest Stop along Hwy 20. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE
was seen June 9 in Poe Valley east of Klamath Falls. A female INDIGO BUNTING
was seen June 4 in Klamath Falls. A male INDIGO was at Malheur NWR
Headquarters June 9. An OVENBIRD was at Benson Pond on the refuge June 11.

Migrations are still continuing especially among flycatchers. On June 8, 145
BLACK SWIFTS were at New River. That day 27 were over Cascade Head and one
was over Sauvie Island. COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were reported from many areas
during the week.

On June 8 a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and a GREATER
YELLOWLEGS were on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A singing CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW was on Sauvie Island June 5. On June 8, 16 SANDHILL CRANES were on
the Island. A bright male HARLEQUIN DUCK is now at the Ladd Marsh WMA near
LaGrande. On June 4 a JUNIPER TITMOUSE was in the junipers above Frenchglen.
