It was Twain who said golf is a good walk wasted but yesterday afternoon
at Willows Run in Redmond I was chasing my little white ball and saw
mother Virginia Rail and her four pure black chicks eating on the fringe
of the fairway. It was a beautiful sight and made my golfing partners
wonder why I was taking so long to hit my second shot. Great view, and
it added something special to my walk.
