I returned today to Smith Island, (the gravel road just to the north of Everett Sewage Ponds- accessed by the I-5 overpass just before Langus Park turnoff).

At the first seasonal pond you come to I saw a single EASTERN KINGBIRD, a single WESTERN KINGBIRD, (both sharing the same fenceline) and a YELLOWHEADED BLACKBIRD ( on the ground nearby - kind of a wierdo, it,s quite bright, similar to sibleys picture of a first year male.).

At the next pond saw the WILSON PHALAROPE again ( a female) and also a single LESSER YELLOWLEGS.There were some other shorebirds about- too far for me to ID without a scope. Lots of ducks still. WILLOW FLYCATCHER singing, along with YELLOWTHROATS. Many swallows !

While working outside in snohomish saw a nice BULLOCKS ORIOLE, who was singing away for awhile, before leaving.

Last but not least was a sighting of Astronomical proportions: the reappearance of our nearest star, aka Sol, the Sun, ect. I think I got a slight starburn.
