Hey all,
I made my annual migration from P.A. to the east side a few days ago, and have been in Carlton in the Methow Valley. Yesterday in "downtown" Carlton I had a Gray Catbird, and 2 Lark Sparrows up Texas Creek Rd. just outside of town. This morning, and in fact, now, there is a Gray Catbird singing from a utility wire on the property where I am staying. I remember seeing 2 catbirds in Stehekin in 1998, but with year in the Methow have never seen them here, until now. Also, the Lark Sparrows are new for me here, and given the timing one might presume breeding. Looking at recent range maps, this seems a bit out of the way. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if anyone has any info on Sharp-tailed Grouse locales I would love some help, or am I too late in the season?? Thanks, and good birding,
