Successful nesting this year. We did not get to see the initial
flights, which are so entertaining, but the squeaky kids and doting
parents are quite the show.

We usually have Bewick's wrens also, but they have been
been absent so far this year. Very disturbing, since they were
around earlier.

Also, at our church near Dahl Playfield at about NE 77th and 25th NE in Seattle,
we saw a crow attack and kill and partially eat a young Flicker. The flicker was
poking around in the undergrowth and the crow just swooped down and
attacked. I have seen crows attack baby robins, but it was surprising to
see the crow surprise and kill a relative large, but naive, young bird.
