Yesterday 10 of us enjoyed a nice walk in almost June weather. It was
overcast and almost warm with no wind. Unfortunately, the birds didn't cooperate
much.

I guess the highlight was seeing a group of 5 BLUE-WINGED TEAL drakes in the
last pond before McAllister Creek and seeing a SPOTTED SANDPIPER at the same
area.

We did see 2 BALD EAGLE chicks in the nest on the far side of McAllister
Creek and a female HOODED MERGANSER with chicks at the back side of the pond
across from the parking lot.

There are still lots of CEDAR WAXWINGS about and we saw a dozen or so
BAND-TAILED PIGEONS and a single MOURNING DOVE.

All told we saw 41 species for the day with nothing new for the year.

The only mammal we saw was a MINK on the bank of McAllister Creek.
