Hi Tweets!

For those that are not too far from Tualatin, Oregon. It is roughly 20 miles SW of Vancouver, WA as a tern flies. Here are the directions to the bird.

The bird has been seen today on June 24,Tuesday on several occasions by several birders. It is actively feeding and resting, so it may stay.

Here are the excellent directions and tips posted by Ed McVicker.

The LEAST TERN was still at the Tualatin River NWR along Hwy 99 just past the intersection with Cipole Rd. (stoplight) northeast of Sherwood. I echo Tom Love's thanks to those who made the quick report possible and to Steve ___, a friendly volunteer conducting shorebird counts who directed me to the largest pond's muddy shore where the bird had settled down. During the hour or so I watched it was in feeding mode about 30% of the time. Otherwise it was resting on the mud and would be hard to see from the visitor center overlook. For closer views, walk the path to the left (south) of the parking lot/visitor center and follow the path along the dike west to the only remaining water/mud on this part of the refuge.
