I bet they did their banding on the other side of the mountains - The original sender knows their birds, although I would think that a Broad-tailed even in Eastern Wa would be special.

The post says the home is in bothell, where Calliope and Black-chinned would be fairly rare and Broad-tailed would be virtually unheard of? Have I missed something? Anything other than rufous and anna's is noteworthy around western Washington lowlands.
