As you may re-call, I have made a few postings regarding the large number of
hummingbirds (Rufous) at my house here at Snoqualmie Pass. Many of you have
stopped by to check it out and I have had the privilege of talking to most
of you.



I wanted to let you know that the activity has died down, though it is still
measurable which means that if anyone stops by they will most likely see a
few or more hummingbirds if they are here for 10-15 minutes.



I would appreciate any reports of Anna's or Callope's as those would be
significant sightings. Several people have thought they have seen a female
Anna's, and I have thought perhaps as well, but no one has been able to say
with absolute confidence that they have seen one. It is hard for me to
confirm as I am most of the time looking from the inside out.



I will let this list know again when activity picks up again as this would
be expected in mid-July to August. You are still welcome to stop by in the
mean time.



Kittitas Audubon had its first ever field trip up to Snoqualmie Pass here is
the report of bird that were seen!



June 28th: Gold Creek with Sonny Paz and Sally (United State Forest
Service) & Hyak at your place. Pine Siskin, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Warbling
Vireo, DE Junco, Osprey, Spotted Sandpiper, Brown-headed Cowbird,
Black-throated Gray Warbler, Cliff Swallow, Common Merganser, Canada Goose,
Mallard, Rufous Hummingbird, Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's),
White-crowned Sparrow, Black Headed Grosbeak, Steller's Jay, & Am Crow.

It should be noted that Gold Creek will be trail #1 and the Iron Horse State
Park (at Hyak) trail #2 in the newly published Kittitas Birding Trail Map
which is at the printers and will be available soon
