Tweets,

In anticipation of an afternoon of Cougar and Husky basketball on tv, I decided to take a late morning walk. Didn't expect to see much as it was past 11a.m., but when I got down to Bothell Landing Park there were a couple of dozen crows in typical mobbing behavior. Searching the "crowd," I was stunned to pick out a Barn Owl. The crows were soon joined by the gulls, and even the Mallards on the slough were quacking. The beleaguered owl flew back and forth across the water, finally diving into some foliage (mostly blackberries) along the river's edge. I've lived here for over 4 years and have never seen or heard an owl, though there are lots of trees, mostly deciduous. This was a real treat for me, though not for the owl!
