Steve Dang just called about an unusual gull he saw this afternoon at
Richmond Beach. Since Gene is at the WOS meeting in eastern Washington
right now, I'll pass on to you what Steve told me. (Steve said he'll put it
on the Bird Box.) Steve thinks the bird is a "possible Slaty-back." It
has an "all black bill, clean white head, mostly grey body feathers with a
tinge of brown in the wing." It was floating about 200 yards off shore, not
near any other gull, but Steve says it was "not a small gull."
