Shriner and I went up on Cameron Lake Rd. to look for the Snowy Owl and
other goodies. We did not find the owl. We did find a medium flock of
Horned Larks and a few Snow Buntings just past Delfeld Rd., so stopped to
scope them. We found 3 Lapland Longspurs, 2 in breeding plumage. Very
nice! We drove all the way to the lake and turned around. Coming back
down we found a flock of about 60 Snow Buntings on telephone wires. We
must have watched them for 1/2 hour, and even though there was a very
white bird we were unable to get photos. We'd love to say we saw a
McKay's Bunting, but just can't. Meredith Spencer, Bridgeport, Wash.
