Hi all -
On this bright sunny day, the swallows were out in force down in Kent.
At Kent Ponds, Tree Swallows were in the majority, with much
chattering and several pauses to check out the nest boxes along the
south side of the ponds. Also present among the 20-30 Tree Swallows
were a handful of Violet-Green Swallows and one Barn Swallow. Along
the trails inside the Kent Ponds, a couple of Savannah Sparrows
popped up, almost looking ready to start singing [I'm guessing these
are part of the wintering population, not new arrivals].
Lots of singing and paired up birds all around -- a good day.
