Dear Tweeters,
Today I surprised myself and cobbled together a
bird-house. It looks surprisingly good, considering
that it is the product of a guy who barely passed
seventh-grade wood-shop. I nailed it to an old wooden
fence-post on my place, and then hammered in a steel
T-post to brace the decrepit wooden one. I had walked
about seven meters in twenty seconds, when I decided
to turn around and behold my handiwork. Then a
Black-capped Chickadee came from out of nowhere,
landed atop the brand-new bird house, and stuck his
head inside! Had he known what I was up to? The birds
never cease to amaze me.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
PS The Sedro-Woolley Thayer's Gull was there again
today at Janicki Fields, although the California and
the Western were not. The Yellow-headed Blackbird was
in the same spot again on Green Road today, too, but I
didn't see the Mountain Bluebird or the albinistic
Red-winged Blackbird this time.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
