Tweets - I did a two-day swing through Jefferson and Clallam counties Sunday
and Monday. I was targetting "easy" birds that I didn't have for those
counties (i.e. Downy Woodpecker for Jefferson). I managed 4 county lifers
in Kitsap, 12 in Jefferson, and 7 in Clallam - not a bad couple of days that
way. Here's some of what I found:

Kitsap Lake, Bremerton, Kitsap
Red-breasted Sapsucker, 2 drumming
Purple Finch, heard singing

Quilcene Fish Hatchery, Jefferson
American Dipper singing

Intersection of SR-104 and US-101, Jeff.
American Kestrel

Three Crabs Rd., Clallam
Virginia Rail

Schmuck Rd. x Pt. Williams Rd, Clallam
Trumpter Swan, 27 with Canadas

Graysmarsh (off Wilcox Lane), Clallam
Tree Swallow, 30+
Western Meadowlark, 11

Fish Hatchery Rd., south of Sequim, Clallam
Ruffed Grouse

Boyce Rd. pond, Sequim, Clallam
Cackling Goose, 1 with Canadas
Wood Duck

Fort Worden, Port Townsend, Jefferson
Turkey Vulture - at least 2
Anna's Hummingbird
HORNED LARK - landed briefly at lighthouse
Downy Woodpecker :)

Oak Bay, Jefferson
Black Oystercatcher, 2 on Indian Island side

I had Red Crossbill all over the place, Pileated Woodpecker at 3-4
locations, a Brandt's Cormorant in stunning breeding plumage at Ediz Hook
(Port Angeles), Hutton's Vireo at 3-4 locations.

My thanks to Dan Waggoner, Bob Boekelheid, and Mary Hrudkaj for help on
where to look for my "needs". For the 2-day trip, 96 species.
