Hi Tweets,

A recent encounter I thought worth sharing. Monday, I put on rain
gear and went out to the Kunde Road clearcut to replace the four
existing nestboxes with new units equipped with climbing predator
guards. A pair of bluebirds were at the site feeding in spite of
the cold wet day, and I watched them for a while since the rain had
momentarily stopped. I set two boxes down on the gravel road and set
off with the other two. After replacing the first two boxes I
headed back toward the gravel road, looking around for the birds,
which were now nowhere to be seen. I didn't give it much thought,
as they often show up and quickly disappear this time of year. As I
approached the road, I looked up and there was the male, perched
on one of the new boxes sitting there on the road ! It was a good
day.
