I'm seeing the usual number at the Hundred Acre Woods in NW Lakewood (Pierce County) There were three breeding pair last spring and usually about 5 or 6 birds spend the winter here.

A quick question : has anyone noticed a dearth of these grebes in your local haunts? We usually see them here and there, but this year, nada. If they leave us, where do they go? (Of course, there's always the possibility that they dove when they saw us!! !!) Murray
