Subject: [Tweeters] Cedar River Mouth, yesterday, Bald Eagles in action!

Yesterday I walked to the mouth of the Cedar River to look at the Gulls. There were very few around, mostly Glaucous-winged Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls. I saw two Bald Eagles fly in from the west. I heard a Gull cry and saw one of Eagles flying off with the Gull. It landed on that big concrete whatever-it-is that is tilted. This Eagle ate some of the Gull, then flew the carcass over to the other Eagle and let it eat. This happened at about 4 pm.

Without the huge numbers of Gulls the few that were around made good targets.

I also had a close encounter with two Minks on the paved trail heading back to Renton. They were along the bank of the Cedar River, crashing through the bushes and running up onto the paved trail! Nobody else seemed to notice, and there were plenty of walkers.
