An apparent Lesser Black-backed Gull was found at the south end of Lake Lenore in Grant County, mid-day Friday. It was working the west rocky shoreline.

Description: a large, adult gull with dark gray mantle (obviously much darker than Ring-billed or Herring Gulls); long wings with black tip that didn't contrast greatly with mantle; yellowish legs and feet; bill also yellow with red spot; head and neck with smudgy streaks, darker around eye; in flight tail shown all white as did trailing edges of wings; flying side by side with what was believed to be a Herring Gull, it appeared 10-15% smaller.
