Well, there's clear evidence of beaver activity at Licton Springs Park in
North Seattle, downed trees obviously gnawed down -- AND, just a couple of
days ago, my son and I were walking the dog in the evening gloaming and we
SAW the little booger. It's a lot smaller than I imagined, but he certainly
had the beaver tail and gave us a nice "slap" of it when he ducked under the
water and swam off.

The effect on the wetland has already been dramatic. We planted chorus frogs
in some ephemeral pond areas which are now connected to the rest of the
water, which probably means bullfrogs will migrate up from the lower pond
and eat the chorus frogs. Oh well. We also normally have at least one pair,
and usually several, of wood ducks, but this year I have not yet seen any,
and I would have expected to by now. Just mallards.

So, he's definitely there, and tearing up the place.
