Hi Tweeters,

Yesterday I led a feild trip for Rainier Audubon to
Marymoor and Medina Parks. Today I walked part of
Soos Creek Park.

Yesterday at Newport Park and Ride, exit 9, off of
I405 we found an Anna's Hummingbird nest. It looks
nearly complete. We looked at the Red-tailed Hawk
nest there but the hawks were not around.

At Marymoor the Purple Finch song was lovely. The
Medina Great Blue Herons are back on their nests in
the cottonwood and the douglas firs. Robins were
singing everywhere.

On Soos Creek trail, I saw a Steller's Jay with
nesting material and a pair of Bushtits starting a
nest. A Red-breasted Nuthatch may have been working
on a cavity as it sounded like a woodpecker banging
away on the dead wood.
