Hi Tweets,
This afternoon Barb and I observed a nice male Eurasian x American Wigeon
hybrid at Birder's Corner. The bird showed the obvious russet head of a
Eurasian Wigeon, but also showed the burgundy flanks of an American Wigeon.
Actually a stunning example and pretty striking.
Also present were 33 Tundra Swans and an assortment of common ducks.
A Greater Yellowlegs was also a nice surprise and one must assume it is an
early migrant. With the very cold winter in the basin it is unlikely that
one would have wintered over.
Cheers
