Hello All,
Today under mostly clear skies 60 degrees MerryLynn and I birded along the
Columbia River. We were discovered by Bob Derting who reported a single
flock of a 1000 Snow Geese over McNary NWR this morning. This is the largest
flock ever in Walla Walla Co.! Way to go Bob!
Other birds of note today.
Eurasian Wigeon-5 males and 1 female.
Greater White-fronted Geese-2000+ at mile post 300 along HWY 12.
Dunlin-54 birds on the Walla Walla River delta
American Wigeon-3500 birds on the WWRdelta and the Millet Field pond.
Mew Gull-1 ad. on the south Walla Walla River delta
Greater Scaup-200+ off the WWRdelta
Common Loon-2 birds off the Peninsula HMU
Northern Saw-whet Owl-1 ad. at Charboneau Park
Great Horned Owl-3 on 3 different nests
Barn Owl-6 along Dodd Rd.
NO SWALLOWS!
