The heronry of about 40 nests on the Burley Lagoon at Wauna, Washington,
(Pierce County) appears to have been abandoned this year. A few birds were
seen in February, but none on several looks over the past week or so. Last
year it appeared to be thriving. Bald Eagles are much in evidence.
