I've been told that two Anna's Hummingbirds have been seen on the slope between the Capitol campus in Olympia and Capitol Lake. There is a trail that follows a series of switchbacks down to the lake. I've seen a single male Anna's Hummingbird perched atop shrubs on that slope, on a couple of occasions in the past month.

The first Rufous Hummingbird seen in my yard off Hawk's Prairie Road just north of Olympia was on 12 March, two days ago.

I've been hoping to attract an Anna's Hummingbird to my yard over the winter but I'm pleased that I'll probably be seeing Rufous Hummingbirds now that they're back.
