This morning along Wenzel Slough Road there were two immature Slaty-backed Gulls. The 3rd year bird was there along with the other one that Matt Pike photographed last Tuesday. The second bird is quite similar to the 3rd year bird, but shows more white on its back. I left Keith Brady who was there also and he should have some more photos of this bird. Also, at least 3 Glaucous Gulls were present including one adult.

Also, while watching the gulls, Mountail Quail Mary pointed out a Turkey Vulture flying overhead. First of the year bird for me.

On the the east side of the Brady Loop Road, there was a good sized flock of Canada and Cackling Geese. Two Snow Geese were present here as well. I also heard an American Pipit here as well.

I began the day up in the foothills north of Elma and was skunked again on quail. Although, I did hear the tooting of a Northern-pygmy Owl.
