I am finally getting out there once again after
suffering some medical challenges these past two and a
half weeks. Friday, I managed to see the annual
New-York Historic Society's exhibition of original
artwork by John James Audubon, called "Audubon's
Aviary". Every year, the show has a different theme,
and this year's theme was especially close to my
heart; it focused on endangered and extinct bird
species as well as some avian success stories, so I
likewise focused on some of those species in my review
of that show (includes images);

The fifth installment of the Birdbooker Report is also
available for you to peruse. This new weekly feature
is compiled and written by one of my Seattle bird
pals, Ian Paulson, and it appears on Sunday, noon EDT.

Also, a parrot friend, Kevin Sharp, sent a series of
gorgeous images of birds that he captured on film
while vacationing in the Yucatan -- and if these
images aren't stunning enough for you, there are a few
images that will appear this week that will make your
eyes pop out of your head (I promise)! These images
are the "image of the day", which appears daily at 3pm
EDT. Just in case you've missed them, I'll list a few
