All-
We just finished day 2. Grays Harbor at dawn, zig-zag down to the
Columbia River. Big flocks of Kittiwakes and shearwaters continue.
Rhinos abundant everywhere. Cassin's abundant but patchy with big a big
group off Gray's Canyon, no surprise that krill plugged the ships raw
seawater pumps here too. Elephant Seal male in the morning. More
Ancient Murrelets. 3 Laysan albies, one very close to Long Beach < 5
miles offshore. Pomarine Jaeger bombing kittiwake flocks. Herring
Gulls moving North. Red-throated and Pacific Loons moving north in good
numbers when we approached the beach. Gray Whales plentiful near
beach. No Killer Whales today. Tonight and tomorrow off Oregon.
