After having been gone for a week, I returned and saw an Osprey on the power
tower nest on the Burley Lagoon just north of the Purdy spit (Pierce Co.,
WA) on Friday Mar 21. Not sure whether it arrived that day or sooner.
Historically in the 20 years I've lived here, the median return date has
been Mar 23, but lately it's been running a little earlier, so next year,
I'll have a new median return date. Pretty close to arriving and departing
here on the equinoxes.
