Dear Tweeters,

Today (Friday, 3-28-08) at 5:30 PM I found a Say's
Phoebe in Lyman (Skagit County). This bird was
flycatching from various driftwood perches in the
river. Lyman is east of Sedro-Woolley on SR 20.

To reach this site, drive E from Sedro-Woolley on SR
20. At about mile marker 74, just past the Cascade
Mercantile store and gas station, turn south (right)
onto Prevedel Road or Pipeline Road. Go one block.
>From Prevedel, turn left; from Pipeline, turn right.
Either way, in just a few meters you need to turn
south onto Main Street (I think it's called that),
into the tiny "downtown" area of Lyman (post office
and tavern, plus houses). Go straight between the PO
and tavern, come to a stop sign, go east (left). In a
few yards, reach a short, steeply descending road on
the right, which goes down to a vantage point.

This site is excellent at various times of the year
for viewing migrant waterfowl and shorebirds.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
