Subject: [Tweeters] Ridgefield NWR: MTN BLUEBIRD Pair + SAY'S PHOEBE + Real

From: Bill Clemons - willclemons at yahoo.com

This morning (Mar 29, 2008) my Mom (Olive) and I saw a fancy male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD on the SE side of the loop road a bit before the home stretch. (~4mi W of I-5 at Exit 14 in SW Washington; http://www.fws.gov/ridgefieldrefuges/ ). MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was previously reported March 27, 2008.

Subsequently, Carol Ledford found a Say's Phoebe in the same area while she was showing the male MTN BLUEBIRD to Linda, the Saturday entrance booth volunteer. Clay Davis was driving along right behind Carol and Linda and saw a female MTN BLUEBIRD. This was all between 9:30 and 11:30am.

At the SE corner of Canvasback Lake where the road turns toward Rest Lake there were several REAL CLIFF SWALLOWS. These fellows had "headlights" and all other requisite field marks. One was on the road less than 20 feet in front of my car.
